My name is Max Randolph, join me on my adventures in steel! Let's explore dynamic and interactive works as we descend down the rabbit hole together!
Forging a Horse Ranch Sign
In this video I forge and fabricate a sign for a horse ranch. To build this sign, I used welding and fabrication, oxygen acetylene cutting, and traditional blacksmithing techniques to create this utilitarian sculpture. As a craftsman and artist, I love trading work with members of my community, and it was a delight to provide this sign as a trade for a friend's work.

I'll have to start making time out of my day for these, they seem delightful. This whole thing was so wholesome to listen to 🥺💕.
@@aHappyTrashCan I’d love to have you there! 12 pm pst every Sunday
If we’re picking fox names I have to throw out Todd from Fox and the Hound haha
@@703aSpen it matches Mr.Copper too!
Still having gloves and rags go missing? Hope to see the foxes. If anything you can probably put another camera in the shop
@@brownpaul476 I’ll try a few different locations!
Awesome 🎉 can’t wait to see them
@@PHILWORX I’ll keep you updated!
Oh max I have an idea before Halloween gets here make some kind of a pumpkin art project I love pumpkins and I'm just throwing it out there but what do you think you think would be a good idea and I just want to add if you decide to do it it could be like something you could put in your shop in the corner somewhere and just look at it every now and then if you have spooky season like I do
@@Stevenparsons0 I’ll think about that! I love the idea!
So exiting! I hope you get some great footage!
I hope so too! I’ll keep you updated!
Can't wait to meet the foxes! (By the way, we should definitely give them names!)
We need to make them! You’re so right!!

Really enjoy your work Max and Remember behind every grate MaN there is a Grater Women . Love from Australia 👍🤠
@@douglasfathers4848 aww I’m so sorry for your loss!
This is so beautiful. Each leaf has its own personality. It resonates individually, as well as a whole. Trees in nature are a part of natures neural network. All of nature communicates with its deep roots to water systems and soil to acquire its nutrients. You have designed and created a wonderful marvel for every eye beholding it and listening to it's soft ripple of copper in the wind. It will speak to all of them. They will be changed forever because of you. I found you looking for natural ways to patina copper for my gemstone jewelry creations. I found a lot more inspiration than I expected. I will be checking back often. Thank you.
Steel to me is grounding. It dominates. I love the idea of the longevity of our creations and how they can be handed down with all their glory and memories attached. It's to be respected. Thank you. I enjoy your channel. I just found you. I create jewelry metal and gemstones. I am inspired by everything. We all have a love for texture, color and taking a solid form, manipulating it and bringing something amazing to life. I paint on glass in reverse and incorporate it into my metal jewelry. Fibonacci symbolism has always been an inspiration in all my art. Great interview.👍👏 I put it all out to the UNIVERSE. I'm an Interior Decorator and Furniture Design Specialist in my career. Check out the jewelry in Lord Of The Rings. That is me. Y'ALL ARE JUST FUN 😂 Who needs Alexa, when you can have Kelsier? I've sold lighting, huge chandeliers. I love the shapes and the adjustment to design illumination makes. I'm going to used the Repose texture more in my designs in miniature. 👏
I didn't get the notification, but I'm hanging out with you guys now! Hope you're all having a great day!!!
@@SdW.8 aw shucks! I’ll see you next week then! Same time!
Create a sun forge blade
I want to see if blacksmithing is for me, but I don’t wanna drop more than 50 bucks on a forge, should I use a propane forge or like a coal forge? Do you have a preference on which one?
Rayla's blades looks like hybrid of butterfly knife and espada machete.
How much do you sell them for?
This is the most underrated and under watched channel on UA-cam
I really like these monday videos. It's like starting the week with the Santa Claus of Blacksmithing
I try to hang around creative people who love what they do, I try to find work that someone made with a lot of passion (sometimes that's a show), and I watch channels like this one :D
Damn is there anything you can't do??? XD
Forge it guys forge it 💪💪💪💪
Hey max i was gonna ask you before you ended the stream i was asking if you had a f150ford from the 50s you look like a guy who has one
Not far off! The first truck I bought was a 78 Ford 150 custom! LOVED THAT TRUCK!!
Awww, ive missed it
There’s always next week my friend!
Yeah, there's always another day
I think my favorite part of your videos is how inspired I feel afterwards. This is in spite of me not having any metal working profession or skills. I think that's one of the most beautiful parts of your personality, and how you meaningfully bring it into your videos.
Aw, this makes me so happy!
Is their any chance to get a pair of this blades?
Love your channel man! Keep up the incredible work like always!
@@justinross7045 that really means a lot to me!
Wow Max you are the steal whisper. Such a nice build. Love to watch how al parts comes together. Nice that you have tools from back in the day and stil can use. Nice story and video. Looking forward for the next video 😊
@@hq-sound you’re too kind! Thank you
Incredibly badass Max! I guessed magnets right away!
@@RageDalton that’s awesome!
I have no idea why it changed my handle! Lol I'm one of your members! Rage tactics
@@RageDalton oh I know! 😜
Max you are 1 in a million mate . Your passion for your work is um Awesome . I do some Blacksmithing as a hobby as I'm retired , And watching you Sir reminds me of my self in my younger days . So thank you for making an old steel worker feel young again . Cheers from Australia .
@@douglasfathers4848 wow man, that really means the world to me!
Quick question if i were to hit u up one day and ask for a sword thats as wild as this one how much would it cost if u were to sell it and how much does it cost to make it my self im really interested in this skill set and im taking mechanical engineering as a bonus
Great questions, hard to answer! Custom blades are tricky to price because it depends on the design. You should absolutely learn blacksmithing! It’s such a useful skill to have, and it’s nice to make things for yourself and others!
@@Max_Randolph_Studios as of something thats as big as this design here that you worked on how much would you price it at i would rather a range than an actual price because it might vary
@@Max_Randolph_Studios and btw i would absolutely love to see you make the back holders that hold the 2 blades in place on the lower back
Looks beautiful good sir. I saw you using soap stone when torching. Useful trick i found is if you use white out the lines are easy to see through the cutting glasses and doesn't burn away. Stay creative
@@sqigle6669 I’ll give it a try!
I just want to say I love your intro and video at the start of your videos I really liked it I hope that you don't end up changing it anytime soon I really like it. also good video
@@Stevenparsons0 I’m so glad you enjoy it! It’s not going anywhere!
another amazing video and creation, thank you for sharing. I could watch you make amazing designs all day long, always gets me how beautiful the drawings are even before you make the physical item.
@@GuyverGamingTV I appreciate that so much! Thank you!
Very beautiful. Bless.
@@mcdk72 I’m so glad you like it!
Amazing 💪
Im impressed. Ive never seen someone do chasing without a massively over priced pitch set up, let alone just on the anvil face.. Im gonna have to try it.
That must have been a hell of a favor they did for you to warrant this masterpiece.
@@troyhuckendubler6397 I always like to give more than I receive 😊

@@Max_Randolph_Studios Any time! I scramble to UA-cam as soon as I see a notification for you posting a video!

@@WildHuntKnives it’s better in so many ways. Longevity, no dust or sparks, and so on
@@Max_Randolph_Studios Looks like ones going in the Amazon cart lol
@@WildHuntKnives hahaha!
hey why not make a magnet mount swivel for your cutting torch?
@@Walking_Bear I might! They look awfully handy
Man i love so much your art and how you tell it as a story for the video. I would also love an art book with your sketches.
That means so much to me! Thank you!
Definitely working myself to the bone to own a ranch later on in life. I absolutely now know who to go to for a sign 😤
I got you buddy! Can’t wait to see your dreams come true!
crying during another max video, what else is new?!?
You honor me! I appreciate you Neil!
It's beaitiful! I love to see the proces, how you start with very precise geometrical shapes and slowly transition to more freeflowing organical forms to bring this to life. It's fascinating!
I’m so glad you like it!
wait. you made that ring roller when you was a teenager, you must me a genius
Oh hardly! I’m still learning new things every day! When I make a new one there are lots of changes I would make.
Longer videos of watching you work? yes please
🥰😁
We are living in a fractelesk universe. Everything is a copy of a copy. Everything repeats just a lil differently
We all inspire each other indeed!

😁
It's so cool that the old tools are still so useful! especially when you look at things made today that feels like they are made to break after a short while to make you buy more instead of made to last
Absolutely! And if it breaks it’s typically an easy fix right there in the shop
